Error E-40 displayed on the Seiko TP-5
If programmed, an optional 4 digit password can be requested when entering program mode to protect against unauthorised changes.
If your Seiko TP-5 displays error E-40, it means the wrong password has been entered when prompted.
To correct the problem:

- Enter the correct password when prompted.
If you have forgotten the password, your Seiko TP-5 will have to be reset to factory default.
