How to set the comment text on the Seiko TP-5

This setting only changes the comment text that is included with the print format.

If the print format includes a comment, this option determines which comment text is to be printed.

The comment text can be selected from one of the following fixed styles.

If you need to set or alter the comment text on your Seiko TP-5 time clock, follow the procedure below.


  1. If you haven't already done so, with power applied to the Seiko TP-5, unlock and remove the top cover.

  2. Press the SELECT button as required to position the "" mark under the COMMENT option.

    3. Seiko TP-5 Time Clock (change comment text - step 2)

    If the display shows "9999" when entering program mode, you are required to enter the four digit password to proceed.

  3. The comment text option value will be flashing.  If necessary, press the CHANGE button to alter the option value.

    Press the SET button to complete the procedure.


    4. Seiko TP-5 Time Clock (change comment text - complete)

  4. If you don't need to alter any further settings, press SET one more time to ensure you have exited program mode.

    5. If you don't press the SET button to complete programming, the TP-5 will remain in program mode and will not accept time cards or documents.


  5. Replace and lock the top cover.
